Brief introduction of the subject
This subject aims to cultivate students' understanding of the natural environment, human activities, and their interrelationships, while fostering awareness of local, regional, and global issues. The curriculum encompasses both physical geography (such as landforms, climate, and hydrology) and human geography (such as urban development, industrial growth, and environmental management). Emphasis is placed on geographical skills (including map reading and fieldwork techniques) as well as the concept of sustainable development.
Importance in the school curriculum

Teaching and assessment methods
For Junior Forms
This curriculum reinforces and applies students' classroom learning effectively through regular assignments and quizzes. Each grade level includes project-based learning to promote autonomous exploration beyond the classroom, conducted individually or in groups, with the aim of extending and deepening geographic understanding. Project formats may include poster design, model construction, and group presentations, enriching the diversity of learning experiences in Geography. Additionally, one field study activity is arranged annually to enable experiential learning outside the classroom, thereby enhancing students' conceptual understanding and practical application of geographic knowledge.
For Senior Forms
This curriculum consolidates and deepens students' mastery and application of geographic knowledge through school-based notes, diverse coursework, and quizzes. To strengthen map-reading and fieldwork-related skills, senior secondary students engage more extensively in geographic inquiries through experiential learning beyond the classroom. Moreover, to enhance examination preparedness, the curriculum encourages participation in public Geography seminars, competitions, and mock examinations, thereby broadening learning horizons and supporting students' performance in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE).
